[142] Levi served as a captain in the First Ohio Regiment under Col. Duncan
McArthur during the War of 1812. He was one of the five original
settlers that went ahead of the rest of the Scioto Company to build the
community of Worthington, arriving 18May1803. He and Charlotte were
married in a dual wedding, along with Abner, his brother, & Polly
Morrison. The four were the first to be married in the new community
only a few months after the church was finished. He built his house on
the west side of Main street, probably after 1820, and served as the
first treasurer of the city when it was incorporated in 1836.
